New business within 24 hours of working with Divadani
James Harrison-Griffiths, a former CID officer turned private investigator, was becoming increasingly frustrated by the declining number and quality of enquiries being generated by the ad that he had been placing in Yellow Pages every year since starting out in business on his own in 2003.
So when the Yellow Pages salesman next made his annual call to get the advert renewed James decided it was time to try something different. He knew the answer was to start making better use of the internet as a lead generation tool but he also knew that his website was out of date and wasn’t bringing him any new clients.
Like many business owners, James hoped that if he invested in a brand new website with an improved design this would be the answer to all his problems. Fortunately, he made contact with Divadani before taking the plunge and spending his entire budget on getting a web design company to build him a new website.
We explained that, whilst the existing website had a lot wrong with it, there was no point blowing the whole budget on a new site if that meant there was nothing left over for marketing it to potential new clients. With James’s agreement we developed a three step strategy which involved:
- Getting a web designer to remove all the distracting animations from the website and placing James’s phone number as a prominent call to action in the header area of the site
- Arranging for a professional copywriter to rewrite the content of the site so as it was more engaging, more customer focused, and easier to understand
- Setting up Google AdWords so that individuals, businesses and legal advisers looking online for a private investigator would find James’s site at the top of the Google search results
Within just one day of these changes being completed and the AdWords campaign going live, James had not only had enquiries from his website for the first time ever, but had also gained new business from one of those enquiries.
