New website drives business forward

AA driving instructor Russell Forrester needed a more cost effective way of getting new pupils and approached us to see if online marketing could be the way forward for his business.

At the time, Russell had a home-made website that was probably doing more harm than good to his reputation and certainly wasn't getting his phone ringing with 17 year olds anxious to learn to drive with him.

It was clear Russell needed to have a complete online marketing strategy developed for him. We helped him put together a proper brief as to what was needed for his new website and what features the site should include to ensure it stood out from the crowd and would convince prospective pupils that they should entrust Russell with the job of teaching them to drive.

To do this, we not only needed a good team of web designers, but we also needed to ensure that the content of the site was well written and easy to understand. So as well as choosing and project managing a suitable web design agency for Russell, we also brought in a copywriter. She liaised with Russell to find out what his unique selling points were and ensured that these were immediately obvious to anyone visiting the website.

Once the new site was live, we used Google AdWords to make sure that whenever someone searches on Google for a driving instructor in the Russell's area, he is one of the first instructors they find.

Did it work? It certainly did. In the first month of operation, Russell got more new business from the new site than the previous site had brought him in an entire year!
